CALS Leadership Institute (CALS LI)
The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences prepares students for leadership in a global society. CALS LI will be made up of selective undergraduate students in the University of Florida’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in academics and community leadership and a desire to develop into outstanding leaders in their field of study. Students will participate in the institution for a 3-semester, 17-month leadership development experience.
CALS LI expands educational studies and allows students to gain knowledge for employment and citizenship and expose them to life-long learning. This is accomplished through leadership courses, workshops, conferences, a 50-hour practicum and a personal mentor for guidance. The program is designed to educate, enhance and enlighten CALS undergraduate students in the area of leadership development. The Institute’s primary focus is to develop new leaders and enhance leadership skills in emerging leaders.
Becoming a member of CALS LI is an honor. The program will allow you to develop into the leader you've always wanted to be. CALS LI prepares students in the following areas:
- Personal Development and Growth
- Effective Communication
- Goal Setting
- Conflict Resolution
