For the 2018-2019 academic year, CALS awarded $386,375 to 334 undergraduate students. All full-time undergraduate students enrolled in or entering the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences or the Biological Engineering major are eligible to apply.
Undergraduate scholarship applications for the 2019-2020 academic year will be available after fall grades are posted and will be due March 12, 2019. Applications will be reviewed by a faculty committee for evidence of scholarship; scholastic achievements, honors and awards; extracurricular activities; and professional potential. Awards will be made based on individual fund criteria and availability of funds.

Do I have to be enrolled full-time?
Scholarship recipients, with the exception of Florida Rural Rehabilitation Corporation Off-Campus Scholarship recipients, must be enrolled full-time at UF during the semesters during which they receive awards.
If you are graduating in a particular semester and require less than full-time enrollment to complete your degree, you may be granted an exception by the CALS Dean's Office. Students may also be granted an exception if they have been approved for a reduced course load by the Disability Resource Center.
How do I renew my scholarship?
Undergraduate scholarships are renewable so long as the recipient reapplys each academic year and maintains minimum GPA and full-time enrollment status in CALS.
What is the minimum GPA required to receive a scholarship?
Nearly all scholarships awarded by the CALS Dean's Office require a minimum 3.0 GPA.
How much money is awarded through these applications?
For the 2018-2019 academic year, CALS awarded nearly $570,000 to 419 students. On average, undergraduate students received $1,157 and graduate students received $2,159. Students selected to receive one or more scholarships receive a minimum of $1,000.

When will I find out if I received a scholarship?
Ten freshman scholars will be notified prior to May 1. All other scholarship recipients, including additional freshmen, will be notified via USPS and email in late July or early August.
When will I receive my funds?
Funds are disbursed 5-6 weeks after the start of the semester. After the drop/add period ends, the CALS Dean's Office has to individually verify that each of the ~400 CALS scholarship recipients meets the criteria for his or her scholarship before releasing funds.
How can I support CALS students through scholarships?
Donors may elect to give to the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences General Scholarship Fund. If a donor wishes to establish his or her own scholarship endowment, they should contact IFAS Advancement.
