International Studies in Agricultural and Life Sciences

Minor

Student who participate in an approved study abroad, internship, or research program of 6 or more weeks in length are eligible for the Minor in International Studies in Agricultural and Life Sciences. Credit requirements are as follows:

Instructions

Step 1: If you are an undergraduate student, you must complete the Registrar's Office Application to Add or Cancel a Minor Form. You must submit the form to the Global Gators Coordinator (Dr. Mark W. Rieger, 2002 McCarty Hall D, 352-392-1963) before it is completed because it requires his signature. If you are a graduate student, you do not need to complete the application to add a minor. You must perform step 2 and take that form to 106 Grinter Hall.

Step 2: Complete the CALS Undergraduate Minor Form (Program of Study) or CALS Graduate Minor Form (Program of Study) and bring it, along with the Application to add or cancel a minor, to the Global Gators Coordinator (Dr. Mark W. Rieger, 2002 McCarty Hall D, 352-392-1963).

Step 3: Complete the Undergraduate Academic Advising Form (pdf) or Graduate Academic Advising Form (pdf) available online or in person from the University of Florida International Center. This form shows how the courses that you take while abroad correspond to UF courses. The courses that you take while abroad must correspond to UF courses for you to receive credit for them at the University of Florida. For them to count toward your major, they must correspond to courses at UF that also count toward your major. Discuss this carefully with your advisor so that you are sure that you will be able to count your study abroad credits appropriately.

Courses that apply toward the minor are specified in the following lists. Deviations from the courses listed can be made to tailor the program to student interests, with approval from the CALS Dean's office.
