Loop Legislative Internship Program

The Loop Legislative Internship Program was established by the Florida Farm Bureau Federation in honor of Carl B. Loop, Jr., and provides financial assistance for full-time University of Florida College of Agricultural and Life Sciences undergraduate or graduate students who will be completing government internships at the state or federal level.
CALS has selected Ashley Allen as the recipient of the Carl B. Loop, Jr. Legislative Internship Program Scholarship for Fall 2009. She was selected for the award based on her academic performance, leadership potential and future goals.
Ashley Allen
Allen, an agricultural education and communication junior, is interning with Congressman Adam Putnam’s District Office in Bartow through December.
She is a member of Collegiate FFA and has operated her own horseback riding and dressage instructing business since 2002. Prior to attending UF, she received her Associate of Arts degree from Polk County Community College in Winter Haven.
“My future professional goal is to become an agriculture educator,” Allen said. “Since education is always a part of the legislative agenda, it is important as a future educator to understand these processes.”
