Message from the Dean

Dear Alpha Zeta Alumni, Members, and Prospective Members,

Congratulations to the Florida Chapter of Alpha Zeta for receiving the Founders Cup as the National Alpha Zeta Chapter of the Year in 2009! This is an achievement that brings honor and distinction to the University of Florida, our college and chapter. In addition, several of our members were recognized during the National Conclave. Stacey Halse was awarded National Chancellor of the Year, Timothy Michael Thomas was awarded National Chronicler of the Year, Bobbi Jo Sampson was recognized as National Member At Large (Service Chair), and Mark Marcojos was awarded National Alumnus of the Year. The Florida chapter was also presented the Middaugh Award for outstanding programs and projects conducted by the chapters. Our chapter’s Valentine’s Day Flower sale was worthy of National distinction.

Student leadership development is an important component of the undergraduate experience in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Alpha Zeta, while honoring deserving students, also provides opportunities for student growth in a variety of ways. And Alpha Zeta is for a lifetime; each of us will get to know and work with other Alpha Zetas, wherever our career paths take us. We enjoy long-time support for the College from our Alpha Zeta alumni in various forms because they are successful and they are devoted to what we do. The College is pleased to support various activities of the Florida Chapter, and all of us in administration stand ready to assist in any way that we can.

Best wishes for continued success.
